Artist Portrait

Neuber Silva

Neuber Silva was born in Santana do Paraíso in the region CVRD, in Minas Gerais, Neuber came to Sabara when he was 14. His father, still in the 60s, came to work in the city. Although already inserted in the music, it was here that drew familiarity with musical notes and started his first songs. Later, the historic town of Sabara, who often would still be his inspiration, gave way to the metropolis. Neuber moved to São Paulo where he lived for 18 years, married and had a son. "Living in São Paulo was important, I met many people and lived with many artists as I could present my work as a musician. But there came a time when the city was impossible for me for several reasons. That's when I thought I have to go back to Sabara, "he says. As Sabara changed its name throughout its history (old Vila Real), we had a time when the composer was also known by another name - Neno. "Neno Meyer was my pen name as a composer. When I was recording the first song already existed songs recorded by a composer named - Neuber. So at that point it took another name and was Neno, "said Neuber. After 62 years, the musician has participated in several festivals in the city of Sabara, and in some cities of Mines and out of state. They were various competitions and many prizes such as the title of best communicative music with "Flambou" song in 1999 at the National Song Contest (FENAC), held in Boa Esperança, South city of Mines. Today, with two recorded CDs, Neuber Silva has in his own more than 300 songs; among them some songs written by myself and others in partnership with other composers. Some letters were re-recorded by renowned artists such as the song "Cheiro" Sula Miranda, the song "Intidade" written by Antonio Marcos and Milionário & José Rico, "Mal De Amor" which has been covered by singer Dalvan; among other songs recorded and re-recorded across the country. As a good warm earth, Sabara is present in the life of Neuber, he said, the best years of his career. But points out that today, lacking cultural incentives for new artists to present their work in order that culture brings people to the city and also bears his name out. "Sabara hugged me and respected me personally and musically. Today, however, missing events and music festivals in the city. Perhaps a fixed and organized schedule, with a significant premium, so that the city continues to grow, not only about music, but in relation to art as a whole. Sahara has a very large collection of artists, people want to sing, dance, compose. And here we have space and structure to this, there are only incentives and organization, "he says. Even a few years out of festivals, Neuber Silva still alive kill his inspirations and is always looking for new incentives to their letters. After surgery on the thyroid singer she is unable to work in the fullness of her voice, but the composition is still in full swing. Currently the artist is committed to a new job that is keen to leave in secret and promises to give Sabara once again with his songs.
