British writer and politician, born 26 June 1937 – died 25 May 2004, perhaps best known for his activities in the early 1960's: co-founding "The Establishment", a jazz and comedy night club in Soho, London with Peter Cook, and being one of the "Lords Gnome" of "Private Eye" magazine.
