A.k.a. Nicholas Michael Curran
US roots, R&B, and rockabilly guitarist and singer, who performed with Ronnie Dawson and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Curran grew up in Sanford, Maine, began playing drums when he was three years old, and was learning to play the guitar at the age of 9. When he was 19, Curran left Sanford for Austin to tour with Ronnie Dawson. He then toured with the Texas rockabilly singer Kim Lenz, played with her band the Jaguars for two years, including on “The One And Only" and “It’s All True”. Curran played with Deguello, the Lowlifes, and was a member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds from 2004 to 2007. He recorded four albums, all using vintage recording equipment, and performed four songs in the 2008 HBO Series “True Blood.” He formed the rock ‘n’ roll band Nick Curran and the Lowlifes, releasing his fifth and final album “Reform School Girl” in 2010. In 2010 he was diagnosed with oral cancer, which ultimately claimed his life in 2012 at the age of 35.
