But Nick Mellow's songs are so much more than the right musical backdrop to life's most memorable moments. Authentic, touching, and catchy, Nick Mellow just keeps on singing his way into the hearts of his listeners. Nick Mellow was a musical talent even as a small child. He started playing the violin at the age of seven. As a teenager, he began playing both the guitar and the drums. Nick Mellow trained in a music shop and taught himself how to play the guitar using YouTube videos during his lunch breaks. In particular, he focused on fingerstyle, a technique used by the likes of Ben Howard, Newton Faulkner, and John Mayer, where the strings are plucked with the fingers and the entire instrument is used for percussive elements. Nick Mellow has often said that John Meyer has always been his model and inspiration. In the summer of 2013, Nick Mellow released his debut single, "Complete", on his own, without the support of a record company. Two years later, he followed up with his first EP Heartblind. Thanks to the title track and the single "Airplane", Nick was introduced to a wider audience, and the radio started playing his songs. In the spring of 2017, he released the single "Wait and See" and made it into the Top 100 of the Swiss Airplay Charts. On 3 November 2017, the single "Arrows Fly" was released, heralding his upcoming first album, which will be released on 23 March 2018 on Phonag Records. Nick Mellow took a chance, even though he had no idea where it would take him. Now he proudly holds his debut album, Wait and See, in his hands and is all fired up and ready to conquer the pop world. Im Sommer 2013 veröffentlichte Nick Mellow auf eigene Faust seine Debutsingle „Complete“ inklusive Videoclip. Der Song stiess bei Fans und Medienschaffenden auf durchwegs positive Reaktionen und wurde beim Nachwuchswettbewerb Demotape Clinic von Migros Kulturprozent als bester Song 2014 in der Kategorie Pop nominiert. Bald darauf wurde Produzent Lukas Speissegger (Sina, Junes, Gigi Moto, etc.) auf den Newcomer aufmerksam. Eine Zusammenarbeit schien erfolgsversprechend und so nahm Nick Mellow mit seiner Band innerhalb der nächsten Monate einige neue Songs auf. Im März 2015 wurden diese schliesslich in Form einer EP über das Churer Label „Sonic Service“ released. „Heartblind“ ist der Name dieser kleinen aber feinen Produktion. Die gleichnamige Single erlangte monatelanges Radio-Airplay bei diversen Sendern und wurde von SRF 3 zum „Song vom Tag“ gewählt. In den Letzten Jahren bespielte Nick Mellow schweizweit zahlreiche kleinere und grössere Bühnen. Darunter reihen sich auch Supportshows für Künstler wie James Gruntz, Hecht, Gustav oder Peter Katz. Weitere Highlights waren Nominationen für das Halbfinale des „Kleinen Prix Walo“ und der „Swiss Talent Awards“. Nicht zu vergessen sind Auftritte an renommierten Festivals, wie dem Blue Balls Luzern, der Summerstage in Basel, oder dem OpenAir St. Gallen. Anfangs dieses Jahres wurde Nick Mellow mit dem Titel Pro Argovia Artist 2016/2017 geehrt.
