A.k.a. Beats Workin'
Nicky began his DJing career after seeing an advert in Record Mirror for a DJ agency called Rainbow who supplied DJs for pubs. By 1984 he was living in a pub called The Swan & Sugarloaf and was booking the DJs for their Monday nights. He then started his own night, Special Branch, at the Royal Oak pub on Tooley St. This night lasted for 3 years, originally playing soul before adding house to the mix. After coming back form the legendary holiday in Ibiza (with Danny Rampling. Paul Oakenfold, Johnny Walker etc he founded The Trip which lasted for 9 parties before he changed the name of the night to Sin. He then took over running his own club, The Milk Bar, which lasted until 1993. After the lease ran out he started a new nightclub called Velvet Underground as well as re-purchasing The Milk Bar, renaming it Mars.
