Designer and a performance artist, singer in the band Minty. Raised in Hampshire, in South East England. As an art student Nicola Bateman entered the London nightlife where she caught an eye of the club-face Leigh Bowery with her extinguish style based on Dame Edna Everage. Soon Nicola Bateman worked as Bowery's assistant in his lavish clothes designs. They soon collaborated performances too, most (in)famously Leigh giving birth to Nicola. The couple married in Bow registry office 13 May 1994 only six months before Bowery's death. Nicola Bowery lives in London.
