Musician of Rock
Nicole Couch was born on August 18th 1969 in Chicago, Illinois but was raised in rural Mississippi and Memphis, Tennesse. Nicole is of Cherokee Indian and Polish decent. Nicole began studying piano at the age of five and took up guitar at twelve. Nicole left home at the early age of sixteen and began studying at the Musician's Institute of Technology where she inevitably began skipping all her classes so she could stay home and practice and watch her favorite television programs. Through a mutual friend at GIT, Nicole was introduced to the late, great Michelle Meldrum. Couch and Meldrum, along with the incredibly talented drummer, Linda McDonald, formed the all-female rock band Phantom Blue. Couch has been quoted as saying, " I don't remember ever having resented the glam image, which by the way was not forced upon us by our record company, it was our idea -- nor have I ever resented having to film a video in a maximum security prison. Although I never quite understood what it had to do with the actual song, Why Call It Love, I found it to be exciting and a once in a life time event."
