Nigel was a highly talented multi-instrumentalist who sadly passed away from cancer at a far too early age. As well as being one of the best Anglo players of his generation, he also played melodeon, hammered dulcimer, guitar and just about anything else he turned his hand to. For many years, he worked in the Hobgoblin shop in Crawley, and was an ever-present fixture at many festivals. He also played in a number of bands most notably The Hop, one of the best country dance bands of their time. He left a legacy of recorded music, as well as a body of tunes, many of which were featured in the tune book 51 Cheery Tunes.
