Composer of Classical and Children's Music
Nikša Njirić (Dubrovnik, 13 April 1927 - Zagreb, 31 July 2016), Croatian composer and music teacher. He studied music composition at the Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of Krsto Odak. Since 1955 he worked as music-teacher and later on as academy-professor. Beside composing an extensive opus he also released numerous books on music-pedagogy. He also showed vast interest in children's music, music for choruses and traditional Croatian music. His first composition to be performed was "Rondino" in Dubrovnik, on the 10th of September 1948.
