Niklas Zimmer is a German-South African researcher, artist and musician (drums and piano) working in photography, sound and performance. Born in Bangkok, Thailand May 10th, 1975, Niklas went to school in Maseru, Lesotho, matriculated in Bad Honnef, Germany, holds an Honours Degree in Fine Art from the University of Cape Town as well as a BA in Education from the University of Cologne. Over and above the releases on his own Upland Music label, he's also provided music for several exhibitions and films. Mr. Zimmer lives in Cape Town and is married to painter Deborah Poynton.
