A.k.a. Нина Владимировна Макарова
Nina Makarova (1908–1976) was a Soviet composer, wife of Aram Khatchaturian, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1975). She had been studying with Nikolai Myaskovsky and Mikhail Fabianovich Gnesin at the Moscow Conservatory, graduated in 1936 and received PhD degree in 1938. Makarova composed a few operas, symphonic works for orchestra, piano, various piano duets (with violin, cello, oboe) and harp, music for theatrical plays and movies, numerous popular songs.
