Band, *1995
Dance
Nine Invisibles were formed in 1995 from the ashes of 'Ship of Fools'. Disillusioned by the post Hawkwind/pre Criminal Justice Act of the latter, Mick Reed founder member, drummer and major songwriter of the band, decided to team up with Nigel Goodwin (deep dub guru) to develop a new sonic vehicle of exploration. With the help of various musicians from the Leeds area - including Pat Fulgoni of trip-hop, funk act Kava Kava - the duo constructed a deep dub world music, trance/techno crossover that they patented as 'Tribernetics' and immediately made plans to experiment on the general population. An initial experiment at the 'Que' Club in Birmingham impressed Leftfield's Paul Daley, while other gigs have had the audiences lifted into the spirit realms with a music that has been described as 'ambi-cultural-tribal-trance' and 'deep-dubbed-trance-endentalism'.
