Noistruct is the primary project of veteran West Australian born electronic producer, promoter and former radio show host Boris Otterdam. Producing mostly dark and abrasive electronic styles such as breakcore, IDM, industrial hardcore, d-jungle, abstract hip hop and dark drum n bass. Originally beginning in Perth in 1998 as a solo and then two piece noise project with Peter Polmeartagami, before going solo again in 2001 and expanding to more digitally produced, hardcore techno and breakcore influenced styles. Noistruct helped to begin the first (and only) breakcore scene in Perth in the early 2000s as well as co-found the label 8-Bit Recordings after which he moved to the Eastern States in 2003 and went on to become a prominent promoter and contributor to the Australian Breakcore/Hardcore Scene. Noistruct has released over 80 EPs, singles, albums and compilations on cassette, CD, vinyl and digital on labels in Australia and around the world and played with the likes of Scorn, Whitehouse, Converter, Enduser, Company Fuck, Merzbow, Dylan, Limewax, Anscenic, Ollie Olsen, Captain Raveman, Noisekick, Dysphemic and Tymon among others. As a result of his contributions to the Australian Electronic Scene, Noistruct was included in the 2009 book "Experimental Music: Audio Explorations In Australia" by Gail Priest and later in the limited release Youtube documentary on legendary Perth venue The Hyde Park Hotel in North Perth in "Fridey At The Hydey". Noistruct has both digital and vinyl albums preserved and archived in the West Australian State Library Music Archive and The Australian and New Zealand National Digital Music Archive as of 2007. After 14 years contributing to Perth, Sydney and Melbourne hardcore and breakcore scenes, he relocated to Brisbane in January 2014 and started the independent label "ENDE Records". As well as Noistruct, Boris Otterdam has played in a number of bands including punk, goth, industrial, indie rock and grindcore bands and produced other styles of electronic music under different projects such as Notex, Mandark, Holt and Seroquelle to name a few. Noistruct played his last live show in Lithgow NSW on New Years Eve 2017 alongside producers like Xenosine, Tramstein and longtime colleagues such as Passenger of Shit, Dislasystem and Manifestevil as well as Canada’s “Notaform”. In January 2019 Noistruct joined the roster of US breakcore label "Sonicterror Recordings" and co-released his first paid digital release with UK breakcore producer "Erohypnos"
