Norbert Eisbrenner : He was born in 1935 in Dresden, Germany. He is now living close to Wolfsburg, Germany. In 1966 he founded a band in West Berlin that was dedicated to improvised music. It was modern improvised music with a strong chaotic, anarchistic accent. After a concert Werner Götz caught Norbert Eisbrenner´s attention for a band called "M.N.D.(Moderne Nordeuropäische Dorfmusik)". So he joined that formation. Even so they where known as a Free Jazz Band they went far beyond the boundaries of Free Jazz. They moved Free Jazz to a more modern level with influences of anarchy and punk. They where aiming for the character of the unusual. After Conrad Schnitzler left the "Plus/Minus at the Zodiac" Norbert Eisbrenner took his place in "Plus/Minus" which was already established at the "Zodiak" which was based underneath the "Schaubühne" at Hallesches Ufer in West Berlin. H.J. Roedelius, Boris Schaak and other musicians where part of "Plus/Minus". It was the outstanding, anarchistic, improvised and unrythmic style of music which caught Norbert Eisbrenner´s attention (Zodiak Cd "Human Being" 1968). Later Norbert Eisbrenner founded a band called "Schlangenfeuer" and other projects. All followed the idea of spontaneous, improvised "Modern Music". Together with Werner Götz, Sven-Ake Johansson and other musicians they pushed the limit of modern music. Norbert Eisbrenner is well known for his unique way of using the electric guitar as a sound machine. He plays it, placed on his knees with a plektron and a triangle moving over the strings. He drives it over its usual limit and creates unheard and unique sounds and noises. In 2006 he started a collaboration with his son Emanuel Eisbrenner who is a well known DJ / Live Act and Producer in the Berlin Techno community. They managed a fusion of Free Music and Techno in tracks like "Du bist Wolfsburg" and "Wagner Valkyr Mix". Further Norbert Eisbrenner is improvising together with other musicians to soundtracks produced by Emanuel Eisbrenner. Norbert Eisbrenner is although known as a painter. Through his exhibitions he is well known for his oversized objective and non-objective paintings beyond Germany.
