A.k.a. Nowhere

Bio Ita: il gruppo inizia a muovere i primi passi nel 1998. La primissima formazione era composta da Ank, voce e chitarra; il Negher alla batteria; e Lucone alla chitarra solista. All’inizio era solo un modo per sfogarsi, trovarsi in sala prove, bere qualche birra e suonare i pezzi dei nostri artisti preferiti. Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, motorhead, Black Sabbath e via dicendo. Nel 1999 iniziamo a scrivere i primi pezzi nostri, e la necessità di un bassista si fa evidente. Claudio lo troviamo con un annuncio su un giornale del setttore. Dopo qualche mese di prove, Lucone fa capire che non riesce più, per impegni, a suonare con noi. Alche si fa avanti un amico di vecchia data di Claudio, Luca, che prende il posto di Lucone alla chitarra solista. Il suo gusto più estremo, e la sua abilità sulla sei corde, ci rendono più compatti e spinti. Dopo qualche prova di conoscimento, iniziamo a stendere quelli che saranno i primi pezzi del gruppo. Nel 2001 produciamo indipendentemente il primo demo, appunto Demo ’01. Iniziamo a girare locali, proponendo il nostro materiale. Qualche anno dopo, nel 2002, produciamo, sempre indipendentemente il secondo demo, Burnin’ Brighter, dove si trovano altre 4 canzoni inedite. L’attività live si fa sempre più intensa. Dopo 4 anni a girare locali e proporre i nostri pezzi, produciamo l’EP Try to catch it, dove si trovano altri 6 pezzi inediti. Sempre un autoproduzione, stavolta più professionale, l’EP viene presentato anche su radio e sempre in sede live. Dopo un paio d’anni sentiamo la necessità di produrre il primo album ufficiale della band. E iniziamo la stesura dei brani che ne andranno a far parte, di cui 5 pezzi sono canzoni già presenti sui vecchi dischi, mentre 4 sono canzoni nuove. Dopo qualche anno il gruppo subisce altre mutazione nella formazione: il Negher, batterista della band dagli inizi, avanza la decisione di abbandonare il gruppo, per esigenze personali. Dopo alcune prove con altri batteristi del giro, la scelta cade su Wallace, amico di Luca, e già batterista inserito nel settore da anni. Con lui cerchiamo di rinforzare il sound, grazie al suo lavoro più prepotente dietro le pelli. Da li ad un paio di anni, anche Claudio decide di lasciare, per scelte personali. Dopo poco, tramite un annuncio appeso in un pub metal, troviamo nel Terry il nostro nuovo compare. Con questa formazione decidiamo di riregistrare l’album, che aveva subito un stop dovuto ai vari cambiamenti di line up. Dopo un paio d’anni esce, finalmente il primo full lenght, Greetings from the pub!, dove troviamo 9 pezzi di thrash hard rock. La produzione è sempre indipendente, e il gruppo ora è pronto a presentarlo al mondo! Bio Eng: Nowhere was formed in 1998 when Ank (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Negher (drums) and Lucone (lead guitar) joined to play covers from therir favourite bands (namely Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Motorhead, Black Sabbath and many more), meet in rehearsal room, drink some beer and letting some steam off. As the sketching of the early songs began in 1999, the need of a bass player became prominent untill Claudio was recruited through an announcement in a musical magazine. After some months of rehearsal, Lucone left the band due to personal problems to be replaced by Claudio’s old friend Luca. His guitar skill and his more extreme attitude to the instrument made Nowhere harder and faster. After some time of mutual understanding, Nowhere started writing the very first original songs untill the release of the first independent demotape Demo ’01 in 2001, which paved Nowhere way to the clubs. Burnin’ Brighter, the band second independent demotape, was published in 2002 containing four unreleased songs. Live performances became more and more frequent and after four years the new six tracks independent EP Try to catch it was released. Leveraging on a more professional production, the EP was both broadcasted by local radios and performed live. The idea of publishing Nowhere first official album came out after two years, with four new songs to be included among five from the past. Nowhere line up changed again after some years, when Negher left for personal issues to be replaced by Luca’s friend Wallace, a well known and experienced drummer. Thanks to his more aggressive drumming, Nowhere had the chance to develop an heavier approach to its sound. Two years passed and Claudio decided to quit the band, leaving Nowhere without a bass player until when, thanks to a flyer hung on a metal pub wall, Terry joined the band. With a brand new line up, Nowhere was ready to resume the first full length recording sessions. Greetings from the pub! was released after two
