A.k.a. NUNO CACHO - DJ (Portugal)
The music is his life. Since the vinyl to the passionate form as he teaches the art of playing on a dancefloor, Nuno Cacho - The "Master" as he is called by his students - is one of long-standing images of Djing in Portugal. Begun in 1984, this way of being in life, led him to play in some of the world's most famous DJ booths as the mythical Haçienda in the crazy years of Acid house in Manchester, the renowned Stereo Club in Montreal, through the eclectic Café dAnvers in Antwerp and in the glamorous Supperclub in Amsterdam where he performed live with Anastacia. Playing music in the most famous Portuguese clubs as resident Dj over 15 years and in the most important festivals organized from 1995 to 2002,touched the feelings of some of the world's biggest critics, who recognized their performances in magazines such as MUZIK MAGAZINE and DJ MAG in England, the DEEJAY in Spain and on the cover of DANCE CLUB in Portugal. In his tours, he made friendships that last up to today, with many of the world's greats with whom he shared the booths, like Angel Moraes, Louie Vega, Frankie Knuckles, Sandy Rivera, and especially with all the eclectic artists from Manchester label PAPERECORDINGS, later becoming its representative in Portugal. Nuno Cacho doesn't have a label or a static style, follows his instincts, adapts to new technologies and put music with the heart. He delivers himself to the art of DJing, adapting to the environments and modifying them gradually to his image. His inspiration to House arises from musical sources as comprehensive as the disco classics, to new wave, funk, to the dark disco and Hip Hop of 80 years, passing by the acid jazz, acid house and the garage of the early 90’s without forgetting the label of his life, 4AD. The Rocks vol. 1 Cd, which reached the gold mark and was mixed live by the Artist, is this a great example, because even today, is a reference in the art of mixing and select different aspects of electronic music while maintaining coherent whole and permanently updated. As A&R, Nuno Cacho launched the international careers of artists such as Frank Maurel, Carlos Fauvrelle, Dj Ruizinho, 4 Tosters, Stereo Soldiers and Mindskap, putting on best record labels their first work as producers, representing them at Midem and at the Winter Music Conference. He was also artistic director of the electronic areas of festivals such as the Vilar de Mouros, Carviçais, Valhelhas and by all the programming of the famous TSB Sessions at Teatro Sá da Bandeira in Porto. For those who always had as one of its major objectives promote music, Nuno uses another of his great passions to achieve that end, the radio. He was a co-founder of Radio Nova Era when this was a pirate, he had great audience in his show called Zona de Dança dedicated exclusively to electronic music at Minute 90Fm and more recently integrates with a show called "Back To My Roots" the programming of Radio 93.5 and House-Parteners.com. Their innate ability and his great pleasure in teaching, turn him in a national reference for many young Djs who passed through his hands in the different schools, where the courses he created and taught. As he used to say "I get more than what I am when i train as it is usually only one to transmit knowledge and get them all, is just like a cab, I'm just giving music for the track and receive from the public all that energy, as such, I live every gig stronger, enriched and rewarded!
