O.R.E.

Band,
Electronic and Rock

O.R.E. (Oglow / Rosin Enterprises) was founded in 1984 with John Oglow. In addition to recording, ORE was also involved in a couple of video productions. The first was a short 8mm film entitled The King In A Vacuum which was shot in 1984 and scored in 1986. The group also did the soundtrack for the TTV (Blair Stapleton) produced Dominatrix video (1985). The sound of ORE was strongly inspired by the early Industrial movement, but tended more toward the darkly ambient or surrealistic side of it than the hard, beat driven dance music that would later become associated with the style. Where rhythm did take center stage, it was more funky and playful than hammering or robotic. Many of the early recordings were built up from a heavy dub style bass.
