Singer
A.k.a. Robert Rosen Dada Nada
Ground breaking 80s/early 90s recording artist. The vocal half of synth/pop duo EBN/OZN (Elektra Records/US, Arista Records/UK, Warners/Brazil and Warners/Australia) and recorded as a solo artist under the alias Dada Nada on his own label One Voice Records. OZN, pronounced OH zen, and partner EBN (born Ned Liben) were two of the earliest pioneers of commercial electronic music. Their first single, "AEIOU Sometimes Y," a dazzling example of early 80s techno dance, dance rock and avant garde, is credited as the first record made entirely on a computer in the United States. (Top 20 Billboard Club Chart 1983.) EBN/OZN toured in 1984, appearing with Howard Jones and Berlin. One of the world's first white rappers (1983), he is also credited as the first white House music artist to ever chart in the USA ("Haunted House," Dada Nada, Top Five Billboard Club Chart, 1989, produced & written by OZN/Bob Greenberg, remixed by Mike Hitman Wilson), decades before white male House music artists were commonplace. OZN also worked with the Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles, as well as with David Morales and Bad Boy Bill. ("Deep Love" Dada Nada, Top Five Billboard Club Chart, 1990, produced and written by OZN/Steve Wight). Dada Nada toured in 1990/1991, a shooting incident at one of his shows in Chicago marked his last public performance. OZN got his start in the original casts of two Broadway shows, Shenandoah (Broadway Cast Album as Robert Rosen) and Marlowe and toured, while still a teenager, as a singer with The Tonight Show Band under the leadership of jazz great Doc Severinsen. The band included jazz legends Snookie Young, Ed Shaughnnessy and Buddy Rich. As a screenwriter he co wrote and co produced the film "I Witness" starring Jeff Daniels, James Spader and Portia de Rossi, wrote "Earth's Final Hours" for The Sy Fy Channel and was Associate Producer for the British documentary "Turned Towards the Sun." A re-release of Deep Love has been under discussion since the untimely death of Frankie Knuckles in March 2014.
