Singer of Folk and World
Ofelia Ramón (born in Caracas, Aug 25, 1924 - die in Caracas, Sept 16, 2014) Popular singer. The Encyclopaedia of Music in Venezuela of the Bigott Foundation states that: "In 1940, he started as a singer in Radio Estudios Universo under the pseudonym of Blanca Nieves. Possessing an expressive and soft voice in the nuances, she soon won over the public and undertook artistic tours throughout most of the national territory. Her career took her to visit other countries, such as Argentina, the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Cuba. In 1947, the Venezuelan magazine "Figuras de la Farándula" qualifies her as the best exponent of Latin American music. He recorded several lengths with the National Typical Orchestra and with the Conjunto Típico ". She is the interpreter of the Aires Tachirenses record production, which includes the classic bambuco of her brother Luis Felipe: Brisas del Torbes. Another brother, José Delfin, served as the accompanying guitarist of Ofelia and was a musician of the Orquesta Típica Nacional.
