Composer
A.k.a. Ole Balleby Andersen Kjær
Danish traditional fiddler, professional musician, mulitinstrumentalist - and composer (1807-1841). One of the most legendary figures in Danish folk music, sometimes called "The West-Jutland Paganini". Composed more than 100 dance tunes only known from archives and other fiddlers music books. Therefore the Ole Kjær tunes are characterised by variant formation - there are no originals, only variants! Lived and worked most of his adult life in Ringkøbing, West Jutland. But there are also records telling that he visited, for example, Aarhus, Vejle, and Copenhagen.
