A.k.a. Karen Parker
One True Parker (aka Karen Parker) releases her debut album on Creation Records' dance imprint Eruption on March 1st 1999. Karen's first foray into recording was with the release of a single, 'Bubblegum' (a new version of which appears on 'Will I Dream?') - it came complete with a Ray Keith remix and shook up the jungle dance floors with its angelic vocal and evil bass line. She's also remixed a very disparate group of artists: Ruby, Test Department, Love Corporation and most recently The Orb's 'Little Fluffy Clouds'. Best known for her skills as a drum and bass DJ, over the past year she has DJed at Talvin Singh's 'Anokha' at The End, Slowmotion, World Dance and with Grooverider at 'Passenger Royale' and she is a regular at the Eruption Records parties at 333, Old Street. She's also had some very high profile DJ slots with, amongst others, Primal Scream, Chemical Brothers, Black Grape, The Stone Roses and The Orb at their celebratory Albert Hall show. She's just started a residency at 'Passenger Royale' and will be DJing alongside Fabio and DJ Hype. Although a drum and bass DJ her album 'Will I Dream?' is much more of a melting pot - Karen has taken her influences from a whole range of music, from Ram Records to Suicide, and produced an innovative album that's impossible to pigeon-hole.
