Opera is a French band formed in Toulouse, consisting of Romain Frequency and François Remigi. They started their musical career separately as Electrosexual and Abberline before collaborating then forming the band and touring in 2005. Although Opera's music can be referred to as Tragic Wave, their form of electronic music really owed more to the flamboyant synthesizer sounds of the 1970s and 1980's such as Claudio Simonetti, Bobby O and Francis Lai. Other influences are synthpop and psychedelic synth disco rock pioneers such as Goblin and Tangerine Dream. Opera used many of their studio instruments (like Korg synthesizers MS10,Polysix Roland SH09 and Vocoder) live on stage. In May 2007, Romain and François announced the official disbanding of Opera. In January 2018, the french electronic label Rock Machine Records officially released the two singles Years Ago (remixed by Foretaste and End of the world (Featuring Hong Kong Counterfeit.
