After the creation of the Orchestre Conga-Jazz in 1958 by Paul Ebengo Dewayon and his younger brother Johnny Bokelo, Johnny Bokelo decides to create, with his younger brother Mpia Mongongo "Porthos" and Seskain Molenga, his own band, Orchestre Conga Succès. Dewayon leaves the band in 1962 to create Orchestre Cobantou. In 1968, the band changes his name again as L'Orchestre Conga 68 De Johnny Bokelo.
