Orchestra from Paraguay, created in 1934 by José Asunción Flores, with name in honor of his friend, the great Paraguayan poet Manuel Ortiz Guerrero. Orquesta Ortíz Guerrero included José Asunción Flores, director; Aniceto Vera Ibarrola, Carlos Campanone & Ferruccio Marzan, violins; Francisco Molo, viola; Severo Rodas, bandoneón; el maestro Ropi, contrabass; Tempesta, clarinet; Cristóbal Rodríguez, trumpet/pistón; Agustín Barboza, guitar and vocals; also joined later Gumercindo Ayala Aquino on guitar. Interestingly several musicians were Italien born.
