Album US on Session Disc label
Jazz (Swing, Bop)
Live broadcasts featuring pianist Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum individually. One of many bootleg LPs issued by Boris Rose. Very cheaply packaged with no credits, using a single piece of paper glued to a white cardboard sleeve, much like later rock bootleggers would do in the 1970s. The Oscar Peterson Trio is heard at Birdland in New York City, recorded live on January 19, 1953 (tracks A1, A2 and A5) and January 23, 1953 (A3, A4). The Art Tatum Trio is heard at the Bandbox in New York City in February 1953. This information comes from Tom Lord's Jazz Discography CD-Rom. No confirmed details as to the identity of the tenor saxophonist or recording date of B4, though it is the Oscar Peterson Trio.
