Jazz and Folk
Outernational Meltdown was less a "band" than it was an event or "process". It began with several British and Brazilian artists travelling to South Africa in October of "the year of Democracy 1994" and meeting and jamming with more than 50 local musicians under the banner "Outernational Meltdown". The resulting recordings are a real fusion of world genres - combining, for example, traditional Zulu songs with jazz rhythms and African rhythms with latin percussion.
