Painface was the earliest incarnation of what would become Slipknot, formed in 1993. In April and May that year, they recorded two demo tapes in the basement of their bassist Paul Gray. The band did not play any shows and disbanded not long after their formation, with Colsefni later reusing the name for his new band, Painface.
