A.k.a. Francisco Quiróz Tafur

"Pancho" Quiroz, came to the world in the spa of La Punta and grew up sucking the soft breezes of the sea, that exerted a decisive influence in its marine character. He had the gift of music and so came "Souvenirs" as his first Creole composition in 1939. Nicomedes Santa Cruz dedicated him: "Efficient Commander has been on our flotilla, walking your unconquered keel, trimming in the thrumming sea. The epaulet, that in your marine life there is room for both: the creole Pancho Quiroz and the sailor of the whole soul. "
