A.k.a. Pran Nath
Hindustani kirana vocalist (1918-1996). In 1972, Pran Nath established his own school in New York City under the direction of his disciples La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela, the Kirana Center for Indian Classical Music. Among his American students were Terry Riley, Jon Hassell, Don Cherry, Lee Konitz, Jon Gibson, Yoshimasa Wada, Rhys Chatham, Michael Harrison, Allaudin Mathieu, Shabda Kahn, Christer Hennix, Henry Flynt, Simone Forti, and Rose Okada.
