Musician of Classical
Patti Cudd is an American percussion soloist, chamber musician and educator. She teaches percussion and new music at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University (CSB/SJU). Cudd is a member of new music group Zeitgeist, and she also performed with many other ensembles, including red fish blue fish, Minnesota Contemporary Ensemble, The SONOR Ensemble Of UCSD, and dance companies, such as the Minnesota Dance Theatre and the Borrowed Bones Dance Theater. She received her undergraduate degree at UW-River Falls in 1989, proceeding with graduate studies at the State University Of New York At Buffalo, where she worked with Jan Williams and received a MMus degree in 1992. After spending a year at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen on a Fullbright Fellowship in 1992-1993, Patti returned to USA and attended the University of California, San Diego to study with Steven Schick. She received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in contemporary music studies from UCSD. Cudd worked closely with some of the most innovative composers of our time such as Brian Ferneyhough, Morton Feldman, Roger Reynolds, Martin Bresnick, Pauline Oliveros, Aaron Jay Kernis, John Luther Adams, John Zorn, Michael Colgrass, Cort Lippe, Harvey Sollberger, Julia Wolfe, Christian Wolff, Vinko Globokar and Frederic Rzewski.
