Paul Lovelace, founder and president of CDX in Nashville. Lovelace grew up in Paragould, Arkansas. He graduated with a degree in Radio-Journalism in 1965 from Arkansas State University. Between 1965 and 1969 he worked at various radio stations in Northeast Arkansas and Little Rock, in addition to playing music. In 1969 he began his music business career with Decca Records as a local sales and radio promotion representative for the Nashville/Memphis market. Three years later, he was elevated to National Promotion Director, Decca Records Country Division. He directed airplay promotion for all Decca artists, including Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Brenda Lee and Crystal Gayle. In 1972 he moved to Los Angeles to join the staff creating the newly-formed 20th Century Fox Records. He worked with various artists, including the late Barry White. He returned to Nashville 10 years later as Vice President of Promotion for Capitol Records Nashville, working with various artists including Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers, Anne Murray and Tanya Tucker.
