A.k.a. Paul Tiers

Paul Johnson (aka Paul Tiers) has been playing guitar since he was 13 years old and professionally since he was seventeen. He formed Waxing Poetics in 1983 and played on all three of their critically acclaimed records. He was co writer of the regional hit “Baby Jane” that is still played on FM radio today. Their video “If You Knew Sushi” was aired on MTV in 1987. In 1996 he opened Compactor recording studio in Brooklyn NY and recorded and played on numerous records as well as giving guitar lessons. Paul has worked and played with many artists ranging from members of REM to the Ramones. His current band The Master Plan still tours in The United States and Europe.
