Musician of Jazz
Jazz trombonist and inventor of the electro-theremin. Born: October 15, 1917 in Skunk Hollow, Kentucky. Died: February 5, 2013. Paul Tanner developed the electro-theremin (sometimes called "Tannerin") in co-operation with Bob Whitsell and Joe Rozar. While the original theremin is played without touching the instrument, Paul Tanner's electro-theremin is mechanically controlled, which enables the player a more conventional use of the instrument.
