Pear Wallace Chappell was a writer, dramatist, teacher, and platform artist. She was president of the Dallas Academy of Speech and Drama for over fifty years, director of the Dallas Children's Theater, the Community Players, The Stroplling Players, and wrote and directed "The Pageant Of The Lilies". She was one of the founders of the Poetry Society of Texas, founded the Highland Park Book Club and the Browning Club of Dallas.
