Francisco Gómez Ortíz. Talca 13 May 1925 - Valparaíso 6 May 2011. He is born in Talca, Chile. Son of Cadiz parents (his father of the Línea de la Concepción and his natural mother of Arcos de la Frontera) and grandson of grandfathers Malagueños (Torremolinos). From a very young child he feels the inclination to sing, influenced perhaps to hear to his mother to sing some soleares in the style of the Niña de los Peines. To the 15 years it appears in a program of RADIO CULTURA of Talcahuano, that directed Don Juan Perez Berrocal, along with Don Armando Carrera. The famous pianist of that time, who was in charge of the musical accompaniment of Pepe. Presentations are made at the ESMERALDA THEATER in Talcahuano and CENTRAL THEATER in Concepción. In 1942 he was hired for the inauguration of the famous 'COLMAO EL TRONÍO' in Buenos Aires, where he spent 6 months acting alongside figures such as José Muñoz (Pena hijo), a great flamenco singer. Paco Reyes, dancer, Lola Granados, Lolita Torres, etc. He returned to Chile at the end of the 42nd, and at the beginning of the 43rd he made his debut at the old TAP-ROOM-RITZ located at Calle Estado, in Santiago. Between 44 and 47 he finishes his studies, and in year 48 reappears in 'EL CASANOVA'. At that time he is a guest of honor to the program 'LAS ESTRELLAS REÚNEN CON FALABELLA' by Radio Minería. In 1950, the program 'EL COLMAO LLODRÁ' - a great success - began with Mining Paco Pereda, Raúl Matas and Rafael de Penagos and Pepe Lucena, a long-term program. It acts in the CASINO DE VIÑA DEL MAR. In the year 53 travels to Brazil contracted by Radio Record and T.V. TUPÍ of Sao Paulo, obtaining the prize 'SUCESSO DUMES' consisting of a small gold microphone. He plays a role at COLOMBO THEATER, bringing together the best artists of Hispanic art in Brazil. In 1954 he is hired by RADIO CADENA CARACOL of Colombia. Scheduled tour starts including Medellín, Cali and Bogota. In 1957 he returns to Brazil and to Buenos Aires acting in this last city again in the 'COLMAO EL TRONÍO'. It has been a season in RADIO SPLENDID. In 1959 travels to Spain contracted by RADIO MADRID - where also this Raúl Matas - to act in the program 'PUENTE DE TRIUNFOS'. In July, the FIRST FESTIVAL OF BENIDORM - organized and directed by Bobby Deglané - takes place where it obtains the FIRST PLACE in the ACCESIT GROUP, with the bolero-nana 'FLORECILLA MORENA'. He made several presentations on Spanish television accompanied by Pepe Badajoz guitar. Return to Chile on 60, again to RADIO MINERÍA, GOYESCAS, and CASINO DE VIÑA DEL MAR. Record in R.C.A. Several microsurks, among them 'CAMPANITAS DE LUCENA' a Long-Play in which it accompanies in several subjects the guitarist Mario Escudero. In 1963 he travels to Peru as an exclusive artist of the company OSTER, making the circuit of PANAMERICANA TELEVISIÖN, which includes Lima, Piura, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Chimbote, Arequipa, Cuzco and Lima again. From 63 to 67 he is engaged in other activities but continues to act sporadically. During his artistic life sang from Arica to Punta Arenas spreading the Spanish song. Awards Chile, 1949-1950, Second Place Contest 'The Radial Barometer', ECRAN Magazine. Brazil 1953, SUCESSO DU MES Prize. Colombia 1954, Honorary Title of 'Condor Francisco', Airline PANAGRA. Chile 1958, Diploma to Merit Radial, Radio Sociedad Nacional de Minería. Spain 1959, Benidorm Festival, First Place ACCESIT Group. Chile, 1959-1960, R.C.A. The best Spanish singer. Chile 1999, Honorary Member, Andalusian Regional V. Died in the family home on May 6, 2011.
