Band,
Musician of Latin
"Pepito" Torres, decides to start his project to form an orchestra as of November 1939, in partnership with his partner the trumpeter Placido Rivera Martinez known as "Pete" Rivera, to attend a proposal from his friend the businessman José " Cheche "Marrero - who wanted to present a very inexpensive orchestra to entertain the nights of the Miami Casino, in Old San Juan, of his property. Torres and Rivera invited other members of the orchestra of Rafael Muñoz, being conformed "The Siboney Orchestra" as they called it, with the following members: Carmelito Ortiz (singer); Andrés Tallada Ojeda (pianist); Pete Rivera (first trumpet); Berto Torres (second trumpet) and Pedrito Romero (third trumpet); Pepito Torres (first alto saxophone); Luis Rafael Torres Silva, brother of Pepito (second alto saxophone); José María "Jossie" Henríquez and José Trujillo (first and second tenor saxophones, respectively); Raúl Rivera (double bass player); Pedro Raldiris (drummer) and José T. Colón (bongosero). Then two exceptional voices are integrated: Víctor Luis Miranda, and José Luis Moneró. It is clear then that the Siboney Orchestra was the daughter of the Rafael Muñoz Orchestra. Then the great Miguelito Miranda arrives as trumpeter.
