Band,
Electronic and Rock
When the Modern Heirs played their first gig –Sutton, supporting the Virgin Prunes, there were 13 in the band. We became the peridots because anytime the band got mentions, Steve was always mentioned. We chanced on the name because we couldn’t think of anything less fitting. Instruments: - Kawai synth, Transcendent 2000 – built by a school friend A really crappy rhythm machine bought for £40. An eight channel mixer. An almond shaped guitar. A multiplex effects box – dropped the note by an octave – so he could play bass and lead. April 1980 – recorded live (no sequences, editing, or pre-recorded stuff) eight tracks in eight days. June - precious blood - recorded live the day we wrote it. In early 1981, Stan bought a 12 string guitar so we recorded Open Season/Calm before he could ruin the endeavour by learning how to play. we continued on for another few months before Stan had had enough of the madness and quite to form Stars Of Heaven. Pete Hamilton, 2016.
