AOR lead vocalist. Peter Sundell was born on August 30, 1961 in Nässjö, Sweden. As early as at the age of of nine, he performed for the first time on national television in Sweden. And he had a record contract at the age of eleven; recorded a single, with him playing saxophone and singing on it, in the same year. He also tried as a drummer in these early years; and he became a heavy rock guitarist after that in Paradox, his first band, which later renamed to Wulcan. In that band, his eight year old brother, Christian Sundell, was also a member and played the drums. Wulcan had a self-released single out in 1982. 1982 was an important year in Peter Sundell's early musical life. because he then met Anders Rydholm, who liked his way of singing and recruited him to a Swedish funk influenced band called Mark V. The 80s was also when the album-oriented rock (abbreviated AOR) became very popular in Sweden, and both of them liked that form of rock music. So both of them ended up as members of the AOR-band Promotion (2), formed in 1986, which later was renamed to Grand Illusion (3). Peter Sundell had now found his way to express himself as AOR vocalist, which can be heard from the bands: Northern Light (9) from 2005, Decoy (18) from 2007, C.O.P from 2014, or with him in other constellations.
