Born October 31, 1961 (Pukerua Bay, New Zealand) Film director, producer, screenwriter and occasional actor. Best known for his adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings (2001, 2002, 2003). He begun his career with comedy gore horror films, such as Braindead (aka Dead Alive, 1992).
