Album CA 2007 on Sweet Music Studio label
Country (Country)
This is the debut album by Peter. Released in 2007, the title track, Take Me Back, has resonated with Newfoundlanders and Labradorians from all over the country, as they had to move away to make a life for themselves. With the increase of the oil industry and the demise of the fishing industry, most Newfoundlanders found themselves in Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray, Alberta, as well as Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia. It's this and the increase of the cost of living in Alberta, they found themselves paying more for homes and related items and services needed, going home for a vacation would be financially impossible for several years. But their thoughts of moving back home one day, connecting through phone, email and social media to loved ones and friends, and their own memories take them home any moment of any day. That is what this song is based on. It was played on Newfoundland radio shows in St. John's and Corner Brook, and quickly became Peter's signature song. Not bad for a track on the first album of a new artist.
