Peter Schuback (b. 1947) studied cello at the Royal University College of Music in Stockholm as well as for the teachers Mainardi, Palm, and Tortellier. As a composer, he has found his knowledge through practical work in several different groups and together with other composers. He has been a freelance musician since 1975, when he left his job as a teacher in cello and new music at the University College of Music in Malmö. He has appeared both as cellist and composer in most countries in Europe as well as in North and South America. Among his compositions can be found works for most sorts of ensembles, such as solo pieces, chamber music, orchestral music, and music for tape.
