"Pastures of Plenty", partly written by Peter Tevis (and published in 1962), when in 1964 Ennio Morricone was hired by Sergio Leone to the write the soundtrack for the first "Dollars"-western "A Fistful of Dollars" this track was chosen for the main-title theme, Tevis' singing was removed, and instead the whistling of Allessandro Alessandrini was recorded for the single.
