Peter Wortman began his formal training on the oboe in the fourth grade. He taught himself guitar while in his teens, playing both guitar and oboe in his own rock group and later with his high school jazz ensemble. Following high school he attended, on a full scholarship, the summer program at Berklee School of Music in Boston. Peter continued his oboe studies throughout college, graduating Cum Laude from Hartt College/University of Hartford with a double major in music and psychology. Early lessons on the piano also helped to make the keyboard a creative outlet, with most of his compositions done either at the piano or with the MIDI synthesizer/computer interface. Peter brings to the trio an original voice in both composition and performance.
