Artist Portrait

Phil Aldridge

perc,
Musician of Rock

Phil has been a professional musician since graduating from Trinity College of Music, London in 1976 and Berklee College of Music, Boston, Massachusetts. Paying his dues as a freelance timpanist and percussionist with orchestras and West End theatre shows, drummer with big bands, dance bands, jazz groups, pop groups and rock bands, Phil eventually landed the post of musical director for several notable soul artists. Providing his expertise for such US greats as Ben E. King, George McCrae, Junior Walker, Sister Sledge, The Four Tops and The Temptations, led Phil to create his first theatre show, The Carpenters Story. Inspired by the success of The Carpenters Story, Phil formed The Illegal Eagles in 1997.
