Single UK 1973 on BASF label
Rock (Folk Rock)
The song “Beautiful Jim“ was written by Phil Trainer as a tribute to Jim Morrison, whom he had met and jammed with at a café in Paris' Latin Quarter. The legendary track was originally released as a single off Trainer's eponymous album on EMI and BASF. In 2006 it was chosen as the title track for the Studio Canal documentary "An American Poet in Paris" ("Un Poète à Paris") in which Phil, now known as "Steele", recounted his escapades with Jim. The documentary is featured on DVD releases of Oliver Stone's 1991 biopic "The Doors". Cover shows number 05 19573-5
