Part of 1986 (Frank Was 70 Years Old) was first recorded for Bewegungstheater Vorgange directed by Laurie Booth. Surf was recorded in Liverpool, Glasgow, Stoke-on-Trent, Kendal and Salzburg using Bush, Philips, Dansette and Linn record players, Uher, Akai and Fostex tape machines and Casio keyboards.
