French classical viol player. Philippe Foulon began his solo career in Europe at the festival international of Bruxelles in 1983. He has made numerous recordings which have received awards from national and international press. Philippe Foulon was at the origin of an ambitious reconstruction project aiming to bring forgotten instruments back to life. He is equally at ease playing the viole d'Orphée, the violoncello all'inglese, the barytone or the viola da gamba during the Lachrimae Consort concerts. Philippe Foulon teaches viola da gamba, baroque cello and barytone at the Conservatoire de Paris.
