founded by Ilse Naumilkat 1950 as a choir for the Berliner Rundfunk In 1962, the choir was awarded the title "Pioneer Choir Edgar Andre" by the central management of the pioneer organization "Ernst Thälmann". At this time, the choir from the custody of the Berliner Rundfunk (where he still performs regular productions) was taken over in the city of Greater Berlin.
