A.k.a. Bal Tabarin Orchestra Plantation Jazz Orchestra Regal Jazz Syncopators
This was an Emerson Records studio band under the direction of Harry Raderman, comprising members of Harry Raderman's Orchestra. Their output was issued between 1920-22. Several releases by this group contain solos that are of interest as rudimentary jazz. Records by this outfit were also released under the name of "Plantation Jazz Orchestra" or "Harry Raderman's Plantation Jazz Orchestra". Some titles were also released on the Regal label under the name "Regal Jazz Syncopators" and on the Medallion label under the name "Carolina Syncopators". This group should not be confused with The Plantation Orchestra, which was a London-based jazz band directed by Ralph Jones (6) that recorded for Columbia in 1926.
