THE HEAD OF THE POETRY IN TELEGRAMS PROJECT IS JOHNY ŠTEFEČEK. AFTER PLAYING IN DIADEM, INTROVARTS AND FEELME, HE DECIDED TO WORK IN HIS OWN MINIMALIST FORMAT – A DUO, CONSISTING OF HIMSELF (7- AND 8-STRING GUITAR, VOCALS) AND A GUEST DRUMMER. THE PROJECT STARTED IN 2013 AND THE FIRST RECORDING TOOK PLACE IN JANUARY 2014, IN COLLABORATION WITH SOME GREAT NAMES FROM THE WORLD OF MUSIC, E.G. THOMAS LANG FROM THE USA (DRUMS) OR THE GERMAN ROLAND GRAPOW (MIXING AND MASTERING). JOHNY HAS A DEGREE IN THEOLOGY, PHILOSOPHY AND EDUCATION. WITH HIS PREVIOUS BANDS (DIADEM AND FEELME), HE RELEASED QUITE A FEW RECORDINGS AND COMPILATIONS. HE ALSO PUBLISHED A BOOK CALLED ETHICAL BRIDGES (THE PASSION OF SØREN KIERKEGAARD) IN THE WINTER OF 2011. HE HAS BEEN USING MAYONES GUITARS FOR YEARS NOW.
